The summer teen intensive will help you build skills in human figure drawing. Our summer intensives are at the end of summer for 1-week so that you can dive into practicing each day! Coming up this Fall term, October - December, we will have an 8-week figurative study class just for high school students (ages 15-18). Join us and gain experience in drawing the human form. No prior experience necessary.
Are you a high school student who wants to keep practicing art? Are you thinking about going to an art college after high school? No matter your skill, you are invited to learn beginning figurative drawing. The instructor will guide you through demonstrations on basic human anatomy and specific techniques to render a human form. You will learn how to draw cloth/clothing - wrinkles, folds, as the cloth conforms to the body beneath. You will be using a variety of mark-making tools like charcoal and drawing pencils. Materials will be provided.

Middle School Labs are Monday through Friday - 9:00 am - 12 noon. Each week is project-based and delves into the next step in learning new art skills and techniques that a middle school art enthusiast will want to learn! The creative lab does not have scheduled breaks, and students are encouraged to use the bathroom, snack, or get some fresh air whenever needed.
Join us in this class where we'll work on a series of acrylic paintings. For the first projects, we'll work from an example, getting familiar with the process and techniques, and as we progress you can work more independently. Some of the subjects we'll paint include stylized animals, landscape and city, and a painting of your own design.
Spend a week exploring drawing and illustration! We will be focusing on scenes with characters: human figures, anthropomorphic animals, and animal characters. Using example illustrations we'll study how the image was made and create our own versions inspired by them. Join us for a fun week of learning to draw and illustrate!
Develop a four- to six-page sequential art story. In this lab, we will learn techniques for making comic art, drawing inspiration from different art styles, including manga, newspaper strips, and webcomics. We’ll analyze how cartoonists tell visual stories and learn how to make characters, environments, and objects to create stories of our own. Learn penciling, inking, and coloring to make your comic art the best it can be!
