Join us for a term of acrylic painting! In this class we will paint subjects such as stylized city scenes, illustrative landscapes, and a painting of your own design. For the early projects we’ll work from an example the instructor provides, and learn the process step by step. As you get familiar with color mixing, brush technique, and composition, you can work more independently on your own project ideas. Acrylic paint can produce vibrant results and it adapts to virtually any subject or style, so there’s a lot of potential for developing your own art style.
Develop your drawing and illustration style in this fun and interactive class! We’ll work on a series of projects focusing on characters, environments, and storytelling. You’ll learn how to sketch human figures, anthropomorphic animals, and animal characters as well as techniques like tone, value, pattern making, and composition. For each project we will look at an example the instructor provides, for inspiration and to study how the image was made. We’ll also try different mediums for drawing such as ink, pencil, markers, colored pencil, and watercolor. Come and see what you can create as we learn about traditional art, stylized illustration, comic-style art, and a few surprises such as creating acrostic poems.
