The Maude Kerns Art Center is accepting submissions for our 31st annual Día de los Muertos Exhibit, which takes place October 11 – November 2. All artists, working in all mediums, are eligible. There is a $20 application fee. All entries are due, or must be postmarked by, Friday, August 9, 2024. Work must be original and must focus on the Mexican Day of the Dead, which blends the ancient harvest rituals of the Aztec god of death and the Roman Catholic holidays of All Saints and All Souls Days. The celebration honors the dead and acknowledges the link between the communities of the living and the dead.
Artists may apply:
1) Online to submit and pay the $20 submission fee via the online application form below or
2) Submit by Mail or In-Person: Include a flash drive with jpeg images, completed
application, a resumé, an artist’s statement, and the $20 submission fee.
Up to 5 pieces may be submitted for consideration. For all entries artists supply digital
images in jpeg format (medium sized at a resolution of 300 dpi or higher). One image
per piece. All jpegs must be labeled with the artist’s name and title of the work.
