The Maude Kerns Art Center is pleased to present “Home Team: World Stage,” a juried exhibit open to all artists living in Lane County, Oregon, and members of the Maude Kerns Art Center. The title is related to the show being on display at the Art Center during the 2022 World Athletic Championships at UofO’s Hayward Field, blocks away from the Art Center. We would like to present the best artwork by our “Home Team” of local artists to the “World Stage” of national and international visitors.
There is no single theme for work that can be submitted to this show. It does not need to be athletic themed. Rather, we want all interested artists to submit their best work in whatever style and genre they work in. Any artist over 18 years of age residing in Lane County, or that is a current member of the Art Center, is eligible to apply. All mediums except for installations & performances will be considered.
Procedure for Selection: Artists may submit up to 3 artworks to be considered. Work will be selected by jurors from jpeg images. Work will be judged on aesthetic impact, meaning, and artistic quality & craftsmanship.
Delivery of Artwork: Shipping to and from the Art Center is at the artist’s expense. The Art Center reserves the right to reject work upon delivery if it does not meet the quality indicated in the submitted images or if the presentation is unprofessional.
Gallery Sales: Sales will be encouraged, although artists may exhibit work that is not for sale. The Art Center will retain a 40% commission on artwork sold in the gallery. All proceeds support the Art Center.
Reproduction: The Art Center reserves the right to use photographs of accepted entries for all publicity purposes.
SUBMISSIONS: Please complete the application form and send with the images, resumé(s), statement, and the required submission fee. Make check(s) payable to Maude Kerns Art Center. Thank You.
Maude Kerns Art Center is currently accepting submissions for its 2023 & 2024 Exhibits Season. Local, regional, and national artists (individuals and groups) working in 2- and 3- dimensional mediums, as well as installation art, are invited to submit their work for consideration. Solo, group, and/or themed shows will be curated based on the content, quality, and number of submissions. Click on the buttons below to either apply online through CaFE or to print a paper version of the application. The deadline to apply is April 15, 2022.
ENTRIES: Each submission, individual or group, needs to include a minimum of 10 images and up to a maximum of 20 images total. 1 audio/video file may be submitted in place of an image. Audio/video files should not exceed 3 minutes or 100 mb in size.
GROUP SUBMISSIONS: A submission fee of $30 applies to individual or group submissions. Groups can be two or more artists. For groups a minimum of 10 images and maximum of 20 images is allowed. You may include up to 1 audio and/or video file in place of an image. Audio/video files should not exceed 3 minutes or 100 mb in size. Each artist needs to provide an individual resumé and a completed application form. A statement describing the overall theme or concept of the exhibit should also be submitted. For ease of communication, one artist must be designated the “coordinator” of the exhibit.
SELECTION PROCESS: Jurors will be accomplished artists and art professionals. Artists will be chosen based on quality and technical excellence. It is understood that the individual pieces of art submitted may not be available during the assigned exhibit period, however the theme and quality of the final work should match what is submitted to the jury. Art Center staff will work closely with the artist to select work for the final exhibit.
ARTWORK: Shipping fees to and from the Art Center are the responsibility of the artist. Due to logistical issues the Art Center requires artists who are shipping work to plan to use a standard business shipping company like UPS or FedEx for boxed and crated works and to work with the Art Center on the size of the boxes or crates. All artwork must be prepared to hang or to be installed in a professional manner. Art Center Staff reserve the right to reject work upon receipt if it does not meet the quality indicated in the submitted images.
SALES: Sales are encouraged, although artists may display work that is not for sale. The Art Center will be paid a 40% commission on all art and merchandise sold in connection with your exhibit (including facilitation of sales within three months after the exhibit period). The Art Center will list your work for sale on our website during the exhibit period.
SUBMISSIONS: Apply online using CaFE or complete a paper application form and send it with the images, resumé(s), statement, and the required submission fee. Make check(s) payable to Maude Kerns Art Center.

The Maude Kerns Art Center is extending a call to artists to submit artwork for the upcoming “Oregon Abstract” show to be displayed at The Gallery at the Airport in Eugene from January 21 – April 20, 2022. The submission deadline for this show is Monday, December 6, 2021.
This call is open to any current member of the Maude Kerns Art Center to submit to and there is no fee to apply. Artists may submit one piece of art for consideration by the juror, artist Jenny Gray.
This call is open to all mediums except for digital art and installations. Two-dimensional artwork should not exceed 36” in any dimension, regardless of medium. All two dimensional work must be framed and ready to hang with a hanging wire attached to the back. Three-dimensional works must fit within a 2 feet wide X 3 feet tall X 10inch deep space, should not exceed 50lbs, and must be delivered with proper packaging to facilitate safe transport to the airport.
This show is dedicated to abstract artwork, meaning art that does not seek to represent external reality in a concrete way. Artists are free to submit work of any concept as long as it fits the style of “abstract art.” Artwork will be selected based on how it fits with the theme of the show, the aesthetic quality of the work, the intention of the work, and skill and proficiency in medium.
