With the current restrictions that are put in place for Lane County, MKAC is still able to host classes based on exemptions for Youth programs and following the outline for Higher Education. We have worked diligently to create a schedule that can ensure the comfort and safety of all involved so we can continue to do what we love most, giving the community the opportunity to enjoy art.
In order to offer the safest classroom environment, MKAC will now require all Instructors and Adult students to be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.
All Instructor and Adult students must confirm their vaccination status during registration and show their physical vaccine card on the first day of class before entering the classroom. We will not be accepting images of vaccine cards, either printed or on a phone, at this time. Students who do not provide proof of vaccination will be asked to not attend class and will not receive a refund of class tuition or fees.
We have made changes to our Education Program for this upcoming term by limiting our class sizes to a maximum of 10 students for our Adult classes, 8 students for our Young Adults, and 10 students for our Youth programs.
Full refunds or credits will be offered if cancellation is made 10 business days or more prior to the start date of the class, workshop, or camp. If a cancellation request is made within 6-10 business days prior to class, workshop, or camp the student will receive a 50% refund or credit, and all fees associated with the class will be forfeited. No refund or credits will be given for cancellation requests made 5 business days or less prior to class, workshop, or camp. There are no refunds after the first session of the class, workshop, or camp.
No refunds, credits, or make-ups are offered for individuals who miss a class session.
We are currently offering scholarships for 50% of the cost of tuition for classes. Scholarships are available for all age groups through the Susi Larsen & Cameron Serbu Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Madeline Christenson Scholarship Fund.
MKAC has a parking lot for art students, visitors, and staff. If you happen to arrive for your class and the parking lot is full, please come into the office and grab a parking pass. This will override the street parking time limits for your class time!
In the event of bad weather, the Art Center will close if Lane Community College is closed. Classes for that day will be cancelled and a make-up session will be held at a later date. In the event that Lane Community College is delayed, all Art Center classes before 12pm will be cancelled. Call 541-345-1571 after 12pm on the day in question to check for afternoon and evening classes.
