All cancellations for classes, camps, and labs will incur a $50.00 administrative fee ($25 for workshops). Your refund will reflect this fee.
Full refunds or credits (minus the cancellation fee) will be offered if cancellation is made 10 business days or more prior to the start date of the class, workshop, lab, or camp.
A 50% refund or credit (minus the cancellation fee) on the cost of the class will be issued if a cancellation request is made within 6-10 business days prior to class, workshop, or camp.
No refund or credits will be given for cancellation requests made 5 business days or less prior to class, workshop, or camp. There are no refunds after the first session of the class, workshop, or camp.
No refunds, credits, or make-ups are offered for individuals who miss a class session, workshop, lab, or camp. No refunds or credits if asked to leave a current class, workshop or camp due to misconduct. Please read our behavior policy.
We are currently offering scholarships for 50% of the cost of tuition for classes. Scholarships are available for all age groups through the Susi Larsen & Cameron Serbu Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Madeline Christenson Scholarship Fund.
To be considered applicants must fill out the application prior to registration and payment. If awarded applicants will be contacted for the remaining payment.

In the event of bad weather, including snow to high heat conditions, the Art Center will hold any outdoor classes inside. If traveling to the art center isn't advisable, we will cancel classes for that day and a make-up session will be held at a later date. Please check our website for updates after 12 pm on the day in question to see if afternoon and evening classes are canceled.
Enjoy some creative time and have some fun with fellow budding artists in this popular 2-D art class! In this class, your instructor will help you discover new ways to draw and perfect your painting techniques. Through fun class demonstrations you will learn all about color, line, and shape to add variety to your artwork. Experiment with all kinds of art materials, including pencils, pastels, watercolors, and tempera as you create your very own masterpieces!
From handbuilt houses to monsters to amazing nature-inspired sculptures, this class is full of great opportunities to create new clay projects. You will experiment with form, shape, texture, and the art of building with clay. This includes molding, mushing, and rolling your clay into all kinds of wonderful clay creations. Once your creations have gone through the kiln, you will experiment with the world of color while we glaze our pieces!
Get ready to investigate artists like Van Gogh and more! Roll up your sleeves and learn how they paint and draw as they do! There are many ways to make art. We will be exploring acrylic and watercolor painters, artists who draw with colored pencils, and more in this 8- week class. Learn techniques in painting like salt resist or drawing methods like cross hatching. If you have looked at art and wondered "How did they do that?", this class will start to answer the question. Get ready to explore the art, history, and culture of Australia's Northern Territory! We will embark upon an exploration of Aboriginal art and learn about contemporary, colorful dot paintings! The instructor will guide you and your family members through free drawing, stenciling, and easy methods that lead to a finished contemporary dot painting. Join us for a fun-filled Saturday!
Jump into a week of building fantastic worlds where wonderful characters and mythical animals come alive! Learn about scale and perspective as we design dioramas with foreground, middle ground, and backgrounds. Get inspired by artists like imaginative Italian portrait painter Guiseppe Archimboldo, and learn to build characters in three-dimensional form using paper, clay, and bright colors of paint! Youth Camps are Monday through Friday - 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Snack breaks are included at 10 am and 3 pm along with an hour-long lunch at noon. Breaks and lunch are taken outside depending on the weather. If there is a weather event or poor air quality, we remain indoors with an air purifier and air conditioning.

One of our most popular camps! Meet our special animal guests that come to this camp! We spend the week learning how to draw and paint feathers, fur, ears, snouts, whiskers and more!
Do you have a budding artist? Private lessons are available for youth (ages 6-11) and young adults (ages 11 - 16). Lessons will include 4, 1-hour sessions guided by an art center instructor. Lessons involve focused instruction on drawing or water-based painting mediums, customized to fit the student's creative interests. Lessons are for individual instruction. Group lessons are available for a maximum of 2 students. Please call for group pricing. When registering mulitple students for a private lesson, one parent is responsibile for coordinating the availability with other parents.
Private Lesson Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel a lesson, we will need 24 hour notice in order to reschedule. There are no refunds after the first lesson.

MKAC has a parking lot for art students, visitors, and staff. If you happen to arrive for your class and the parking lot is full, please come into the office and grab a parking pass. This will override the street parking time limits for your class time!
